Dan Rene is a seasoned media relations and crisis communications executive with significant experience in political campaign management, legislative advocacy efforts, and corporate communications including product launches. As Vice President of Communications and Media Relations for Impact Strategies, he offers clients a forum to get their messages out to key audiences by using the news media efficiently.
Prior to Impact Strategies, Dan was with Qorvis Communications where he served as a Director of several high profile media campaigns. He led a host of client teams including, the US Chamber of Commerce, The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, The Chandra Levy Family, Allied Domecq Spirits North America and the Miami Project to Cure Paralysis. His involvements with clients including pitching and scheduling of interviews, organizing television and radio appearances, media receptions and press conferences.
Prior to joining Qorvis, he served as a Communications Director for the National Legal and Policy Center, a non-profit, nonpartisan foundation dedicated to promoting ethics and accountability in government. Dan has also served as Campaign Manager for Citizens for Reform where he enacted a nationwide grassroots effort to bring accountability to legal services organizations. The successful campaign spurned the Legal Services Accountability Project that today continues to expose the publicize instances of abuse and lawbreaking by errant attorneys.
Dan has implemented several customer media relations and corporate branding campaigns for products such as Proctor & Gamble’s Febreze, Clorox’s Fresh Step Crystals and Olestra (Olean) and others. He has served in leadership roles in dozens of political campaigns in the Commonwealth of Virginia and volunteers for many candidates and causes. He is also active in several organizations including the National Eagle Scouts Association and the Sons of the American Legion.
He received a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Longwood College in Farmville, VA in 1996.
